UCP Design-a-thon
This two day event (with a preview night) was a fabulous learning opportunity sponsored by United Cerebral Palsy's Life Labs. It encouraged innovation focused on helping people with challenges. Similar to other events, in two days the teams designed a product and “pitched” it to the audience at the end. One highlight was having two 3D printers available for us to use. It was cool actually producing items on them. Teams addressed so many different ideas from translating idioms for people with autism to electronic compression socks to public restroom door latches. The creativity and collaboration was infectious.
