What a great opportunity to network with 90+ entrepreneurs and hear from attorneys at one of the regions largest tech legal firms. This interactive session gave people the chance to ask the attorneys questions. The topics ranged from IP (intellectual property) to what to look for when hiring an attorney.

They said that Womble & Carlyle is probably too expensive for most of the people in this room. You should find a lawyer with no learning curve. One that has experience with what you need. All attorneys should be specialists. If they can't do what you need, they should be able to hand you off to a partner that can help you. Find someone with patience for the start up. Some are willing to write-off time, hold your hand, and are interested in the long-term. Their big paycheck is when you sell out. Don't let the hourly rate scare you.

This was a very good learning experience for me.
